We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Developer to join the Data & Analytics team of a major financial institution. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of modern data warehousing solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud. You will specifically utilize Databricks and PySpark for data preparation and validation to ensuring high performance, security, and scalability of complex financial data. This is a remote role open to candidates based in Toronto or Montreal. While Toronto is the preferred location, strong candidates in Montreal are also encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data warehousing solutions using Snowflake. Utilize SQL, Python, PySpark, and Databricks to execute rigorous data preparation, transformation, and validation processes. Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures to transform and load data efficiently. Optimize database performance, including query tuning, clustering, and warehouse sizing to ensure cost-effectiveness. Implement data security and governance policies (RBAC, masking, row-level security) compliant with banking standards. Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical data models. Manage data migration activities and ensure data quality/integrity throughout the pipeline using Databricks. Mentor junior developers and establish best practices for coding and data architecture. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Business Intelligence. Deep expertise in Snowflake (Architecture, SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Time Travel, Zero-copy cloning). Mandatory experience with Databricks and PySpark for data engineering, preparation, and validation. Mandatory experience in the Banking or Financial Services sector. Proficiency in SQL (Advanced level) and Python. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data governance principles. Language: English proficiency is mandatory (French is an asset). • *Our client operates in Canada.
