This position is to be based in Gabon, Central Africa Offered on a rotational arrangement of 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off from Cana da Overv iew The Senior Security Lead is responsible for providing security advice to site management and implementing security measures in the Belinga project a rea. The incumbent will be required to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including community relations, health and safety, operations, security contractors, and public secu rity. Key Responsibi • lities Advising and supporting the Senior Site Official (SSO) and site managers with regard to all security-related • mattersMentoring the nationally recruited Securi • ty LeadMonitoring security contractor perf • ormanceConducting regular, structured meetings with public security in accordance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) and coordinating public security • supportPreparing security risk assessments and identifying appropriate and cost-effective c • ontrolsMonitoring the security situation, identifying trends, and providing advice to pe • rsonnelDrafting security plans and procedures in accordance with approved te • mplatesCollaborating with the Health & Safety team to develop and implement the Emergency Manageme • nt PlanCoordinating security support for Ivindo activities, including travel to remote locations and VIP • visitsPreparing and submitting routine reports in a timely • mannerConducting security surveys of Ivindo fac • ilitiesAdvising the Incident Controller on responses to security emer • genciesLeading the analysis of security incidents and identifying appropriate remedial • actionsProviding security briefings and training to Ivindo personnel and operational partners and promoting a positive s ecurity Qualifications & Ex • perience Security vocational • trainingTertiary qualifications in security risk management or a related discipline are highly • desirableAt least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in security operations in the resources industry or other international organisation, including experience in guard force m • anagementFluency in French and English, with good written and oral communicatio • ns skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, • and ExcelGood planning and organising skills: sets goals, identifies priorities, adjusts priorities as required, and uses time ef • ficientlyAble to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of diverse ba • ckgroundsDemonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise documents, including risk assessments, security plans and p • roceduresMeet requirements for a work permit under Gabonese employment legislation, including stipulations for industry age brackets.
