This role will lead the integration of modern cloud and SaaS solutions, optimise cloud resource usage, and ensure robust observability across systems that power Indigo’s omni-channel experiences. In close partnership with engineering and technology peers, the Senior Engineer will enable teams through seamless CI/CD tooling, proactive monitoring, and scalable platform administration. As a technical leader within the Digital team, this role will champion a customer-first mindset by delivering resilient systems, empowering teams to self-serve, and ensuring the highest standards of performance and availability across Indigo’s digital ecosystem. With a forward-looking approach, this role will also contribute to Indigo’s evolving AI strategy—ensuring that infrastructure and platforms are ready to support intelligent automation, data-driven insights, and next-generation customer experiences powered by machine learning and AI-enabled services. KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS • Uptime and reliability of integrated SaaS platforms • Azure cost optimization and budget adherence • Mean time to detect (MTTD) and resolve (MTTR) incidents • Coverage and responsiveness of monitoring and alerting systems • CI/CD pipeline success rates and deployment frequency • Internal team satisfaction with platform support and enablement KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Functional • Integrate SaaS applications with existing SaaS and Cloud platforms, leveraging best practices for such things as cost, security, observability and reliability. • Monitor and optimize Cloud resource usage for performance and cost efficiency. • Administer New Relic to ensure comprehensive observability, alerting, and team enablement. • Support CI/CD pipelines in TeamCity and Octopus Deploy, including troubleshooting and automation. • Maintain operational excellence across cloud and SaaS platforms. • Ensure security best practices are observed throughout the build and deployment phase of the SDLC • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them People • Enable development and QA teams to self-serve through documentation, tooling, and training. • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and IT teams to align infrastructure with business needs. • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily • Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from others • Encourage others to freely share their point of view and be open to feedback Cultural • Champion a DevOps mindset of shared responsibility, automation, and continuous delivery. • Model Indigo’s beliefs and convey a positive image in everything you do • Celebrate diversity of thought and have an open mindset • Take an active role in fostering a culture of continual learning, taking risks without the fear of making mistakes • Embrace, champion and influence change through your team and the organization SCOPE Reports to: Sr. Director, Core Services & Architecture Manager once Removed (MOR): VP, Digital Technology & AI Digital Product Mgmt KEY RELATIONSHIPS Internal: • Digital team, including Development, QA, Architecture and Product Management • Cross-functional IT partners, including Service Desk, SysAdmins, DBAs, IT Finance and Change Management • Business partners, including Marketing, Retail, Operations and Customer Service External: • SaaS vendors • Cloud and Observability platform support teams • Implementation partners and consultants Qualifications Work Experience / Education / Certifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 5+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Operations roles • Proven experience with Azure, GCP, and SaaS integrations • Hands-on with CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, GitHub) • Experience administering observability platforms (e.g., New Relic) • Certifications in Azure/GCP or DevOps practices Competencies / Skills / Attributes • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) • Deep understanding of cloud cost management and optimization • Excellent troubleshooting and incident response capabilities • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Additional Information At Indigo, all applications submitted are reviewed in detail by our HR team.
