Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies. It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse. Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. ASTRI has transferred about 1,600 technologies to the industry and has been granted close to 1,200 patents in the Chinese Mainland, the United States, and other countries. To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s): Job Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the Head of IT to oversee the company’s IT infrastructure to ensure they meet organisational requirements, maintain quality standards, and adhere to compliance regulations. • Contribute to formulating a functional vision and strategy emphasising IT security and productivity enhancement. • Effectively communicate project-related matters to stakeholders at all levels within the organisation. • Manage and supervise IT infrastructure and operations vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring vendors meet service level agreements (SLAs) and deliver on their commitments in the most cost-effective and reliable way. • Collaborate with external and internal SME (Subject Matter Experts) to introduce innovations and advanced technologies to continue enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of IT Operations within ASTRI IT. • Engage with project governance to assess performance and address change management issues. • Lead a team to ensure user-friendly and reliable IT services, encompassing Active Directory, email, system monitoring, backup, and recovery. • Take a proactive role in leading the project-related risk management process and handling ad-hoc tasks as assigned. • Collaborate closely with Research and Development (R&D) groups to manage central IT applications, information systems, and assets. • Participate in leading the development of a comprehensive reporting platform to provide accurate, real-time management data for informed planning and decision-making. Job Requirements: • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a recognised institution. • A minimum of 8 years of related work experience in IT strategic planning, architecture management, project management, and IT security management within a reputable organisation. • Professional qualifications in project management, such as PMP, Agile, or PRINCE2. • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in written and spoken English, Mandarin, and Cantonese is required. • Live ASTRI values The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay.
