Our client is one of Canada’s Big Five global financial institutions , a leader in personal and commercial banking and a global powerhouse in wealth management. This role is within their Capital Markets division, where you will be building the next generation of institutional trading desktops. We are looking for a Senior React Developer with deep experience in high-performance data grids and desktop interoperability. You will be responsible for developing the "mission control" interfaces used by professional traders to execute billion-dollar transactions in real-time. Key Responsibilities • Build Institutional Grade UIs : Develop and maintain complex, real-time trading dashboards using React and TypeScript within an OpenFin environment. • Master the Data Grid : Architect and optimize high-frequency data blotters using AG Grid Enterprise , ensuring seamless performance even when handling millions of rows with sub-second updates. • Desktop Interoperability : Leverage OpenFin’s APIs (InterAppBus, FDC3) to enable seamless communication between disparate web and legacy applications on the trader’s desktop. • Performance Engineering : Optimize front-end rendering and memory management to ensure zero-lag interactivity for high-velocity market data. • Collaborate & Lead : Partner with quantitative researchers and traders to translate complex financial workflows into intuitive, high-performance user experiences. Technical Requirements • Expert React & TypeScript : 5+ years of professional experience building enterprise-scale applications. • AG Grid Power User : Proven experience implementing AG Grid Enterprise for complex use cases (grouping, aggregation, server-side data models, and custom cell rendering). • OpenFin Expertise : Experience (or strong working knowledge) of the OpenFin container, including windowing, notifications, and interoperability standards (FDC3). • Visualization Skills : Proficiency with charting libraries (e.g., D3.js, Highcharts) to visualize market trends and portfolio analytics. • Financial Domain Knowledge : Direct experience in capital markets, wealth management, or fintech is a significant advantage. You should be familiar with blotters, order entry, and real-time execution workflows. The target hiring compensation range for this role is between 75 / hr to 100 / hr depending on overall experience. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
