The Role As a Senior Full Stack Headless Developer and Composable Architect, you will design, develop, and implement headless and composable architecture solutions for enterprise clients. Your responsibilities include front-end and back-end development, optimizing code for performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will architect scalable enterprise-grade platforms, ensure seamless integrations, and lead technical strategy for complex migrations off legacy systems. You'll experiment with AI developer tooling to accelerate delivery and architect content operation automations that enable clients to scale efficiently. This role requires genuine curiosity about how AI changes both how we build and what we build. You'll provide technical leadership and oversight to our engineering team in Cambodia, with the opportunity to grow into full management responsibilities as the team and your role evolve. This requires North American time zone availability for collaboration. This is a full-time role. Toronto-based candidates can work hybrid (in-office and remote). Fully remote candidates across North America are welcome. What You'll Do Architecture & Engineering You will design and implement headless CMS solutions on platforms like Contentful, Storyblok, and Agility CMS. Your work will focus on building API-first, composable architectures optimized for content orchestration, AI discovery, and autonomous workflows. You'll lead technical discovery sessions and migrate complex legacy systems - including AEM, Sitecore, and WordPress Enterprise - to modern stacks. This is a hands-on role where you'll write production-quality code for both front-end and back-end components. You'll also experiment with AI developer tools such as code generation, testing automation, and documentation to improve team velocity and delivery timelines. AI & Automation You will design and implement content operation automations using AI agents and workflow orchestration tools. Your architectures will enable clients to deploy governed AI workflows for content creation, optimization, and distribution. Staying current on AI tooling is essential, as you'll identify practical applications for enterprise development and operations. Client Partnership You will translate business requirements into technical solutions for CMOs, CIOs, and digital leaders. This includes presenting architecture decisions clearly to executive stakeholders, explaining AI ROI and automation strategies, and providing reference sites and technical case studies during sales cycles. Team Leadership You will provide technical leadership and oversight to distributed engineering teams, including code reviews, architecture guidance, and establishing best practices. You'll set coding standards, guide technical problem-solving, and ensure quality across all deliverables. As you grow into the role, you'll have the opportunity to take on people management responsibilities including hiring, performance management, and career development. Collaboration across strategy, UX, and content teams is essential to integrate AI capabilities throughout projects. You'll also champion the adoption of modern development practices and AI tooling across the organization. Your Qualifications Technical Expertise You bring 7+ years of full-stack development experience with proven expertise in headless CMS and composable architectures. You have strong back-end web development and front-end development skills, including proficiency with JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, Astro, Vue.js, and Nuxt. You possess a deep understanding of API design and integrations, including REST and GraphQL. Your expertise extends to CSS, responsive design, and modern design principles. You have hands-on experience implementing server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) for improved performance and crawlability. You understand technical SEO fundamentals, including schema markup, structured data, XML sitemap optimization, Core Web Vitals, and URL structure governance. You maintain a portfolio of reference sites demonstrating headless CMS implementations at scale. You have enthusiasm for AI experimentation and actively test new developer tools while exploring automation opportunities. Leadership & Communication Skills You have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate design concepts into functional, efficient code. You possess strong communication skills and can explain complex decisions to non-technical stakeholders. You work collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams and adapt well to hybrid or remote working environments. You have experience providing technical leadership or mentoring to distributed teams. Management experience is a plus but not required - we're looking for someone ready to grow into a leadership role with both technical oversight and people management responsibilities. Ideal Candidates Also Bring Hands-on experience with platform-agnostic tools such as Agility CMS, Contentful, or Storyblok is a strong asset. Experience building or implementing AI-powered content operations, chatbots, or workflow automations will set you apart. Familiarity with AI developer tooling such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools is valuable. Workflow automation experience with tools like n8n, Zapier, or custom agent development is beneficial. Enterprise platform integration experience with Salesforce, Adobe Analytics, or commerce platforms is highly valued. Experience with Answer Engine Optimization or AI discovery optimization is a plus. A background mentoring or managing distributed teams across time zones is also advantageous.
