The Team: Dr. Karttikeya Mangalam founded SigIQ.ai in July 2023 and is committed full-time serving as the CEO and AI team lead. Karttikeya is a PhD graduate from the Berkeley AI Research lab advised by Prof. Jitendra Malik (top 10 AI researchers in the world) and over his last 7 years of research at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Meta AI, Google AI and IIT Kanpur, published 40+ research papers that have been cited 7000+ times. Karttikeya is joined by Prof. Kurt Keutzer as co-founder, and a team of twenty full-time employees across AI, Engineering, Product & Growth. Role Overview We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance web applications and backend systems. You will play a central role in crafting an end-to-end learner experience from blazing-fast, intuitive UIs to resilient, cloud-native backend services. This is not just a coding role: you’ll own features end-to-end, make critical architecture choices, and collaborate closely with our founding team, PMs, and designers. Your work will directly impact how millions of students learn and succeed. Responsibilities • Build, scale, and own core frontend systems. • Implement responsive, accessible, and intuitive UIs that work across devices and browsers. • Set up and maintain error logging, monitoring, and analytics instrumentation. • Collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers to ship student-facing features. • Drive high-quality, high-speed execution in a fast-paced startup environment. • Ensure reliability through automated testing pipelines (unit, integration, end-to-end). Must-Have Qualifications • 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience. • Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript across both frontend and backend. • Solid understanding of React (or Next.js/Vue) and modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Styled Components). • Backend experience with Node.js/Express or similar frameworks. • Proficiency in cloud-native deployments with Docker and CI/CD pipelines. • Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS (App Services, VMs, S3, App Config, etc.). • Familiarity with analytics and monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry, Datadog, Mixpanel) • Ability to debug, profile, and optimise applications for scale and performance. Nice-to-Have • Background in early-stage startups or 0→1 product development. • Experience leading projects or mentoring junior engineers. • Familiarity with GraphQL, SSR frameworks (Next.js), and modern build tools (Vite, Webpack). • Exposure to databases (SQL + NoSQL), caching, and message queues. • Contributions to open-source projects or public repos showcasing full-stack work. • Strong product intuition and ability to scope and ship fast experiments.
