Position: Senior ETL - Software Developer
Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking a highly skilled Senior ETL – Software Developer to support a major public‑sector modernization initiative. The consultant will provide best‑practice ETL development, data migration expertise, and technical leadership as part of a large‑scale transformation involving migration from legacy systems to a modernized solution.
Scope
• Develop data migration strategies, mapping, interface definitions, mock conversions, enhancement recommendations, and full production conversion execution.
• Translate technical system specifications into working and tested ETL applications, including programming specification development, code generation, and unit testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during package operation, implementation, conversion, and migration activities.
Assignment Deliverables
• Deliver best‑practice migration solutions and oversee end‑to‑end data and file migration.
• Conduct detailed analysis of legacy data and advise on cleansing and preparation activities.
• Complete data migration strategy, mapping, interface definitions, mock runs, and execution.
• Develop working, tested ETL components aligned to technical specifications.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
• 7+ years of experience developing and documenting ETL processes for data conversion and migration.
• Extensive experience in digital transformation migrations, including migrating data from legacy applications to modernized platforms.
• Strong experience with RDMS and database structures (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Database) including writing complex SQL, performing data validation, and resolving technical issues.
• Proven experience migrating document attachments from legacy systems into a new solution.
• Experience with cloud database technologies, particularly Azure SQL.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica, etc.
Nice to Have:
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL proficiency with the ability to build complex queries.
• Knowledge of legacy/mainframe data types, formats, segments, and non‑relational data structures.
• Ability to ensure scalability and performance in data migration solutions.
