Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering team, directly reporting to the Director of Software Engineering. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing Silvus' MANET radios and engaging in advanced research projects. This is a chance to work across various system aspects, including device drivers, networking functions, encryption, and security features.
This position is based at Silvus Technologies' headquarters located in West Los Angeles, CA. The role follows a hybrid schedule with a minimum expectation of three days on-site per week: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Key Responsibilities
Develop software for MAC (Medium Access Control) and mobile ad-hoc networking routing protocols.Implement network management software and a web interface.Integrate various security protocols and encryption algorithms.Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk voice applications.Analyze product security and enhance robustness to comply with regulations such as NIST FIPS 140-3 and NIAP Common Criteria.Create testing software for product performance and reliability assessments.Develop and maintain device drivers and board support packages for ARM and RISC-V systems.Customize and script Linux systems.Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.A minimum of 5 years of embedded system software development experience.Advanced proficiency in C programming and experience with Linux kernel driver development.Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check.Preferred Skills and Experience
Familiarity with security protocols and encryption algorithms, including the CNSA suite.Experience with socket programming and various Internet/Ethernet protocols.Understanding of MAC and networking layers within communication systems.Experience with AMD UltraScale+, MPSoC, Microchip Polarfire SoC, or BSP development.Strong knowledge of Internet Protocol Security (IPsec).Experience in developing Linux Interrupt Service Routines.Compensation: $135,000 - $200,000 annually. This salary range is based on market research and may vary depending on experience and qualifications.
