Senior Consultant, Microsoft - Purview

What You Will Do
Client Engagement & Advisory
• Cultivate strong client relationships by identifying business challenges, regulatory requirements, and data governance objectives.
• Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and training to define governance, security, and compliance needs.
• Advise clients on best practices for data classification, retention, risk management, and compliance using Microsoft Purview.
• Support pursuit teams by providing technical and non-technical Purview content for proposals and solution estimates.
Solution Design & Implementation
• Architect and configure Microsoft Purview capabilities—including metadata management, data lineage, classification, access policies, DLP, eDiscovery, retention/disposition, and sensitivity labels—to address complex data governance and compliance needs.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams, contributing to research, business analysis, process redesign, assessments, strategy and roadmap development, stakeholder engagement, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Integrate Microsoft Purview with Microsoft 365, Copilot, and Azure services, ensuring seamless compliance, information protection, and risk management across enterprise environments.
Governance Strategy & Optimization
• Define and implement data governance frameworks aligned with industry standards.
• Develop actionable governance roadmaps and business cases for clients.
• Conduct data control reviews, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with data governance, security, and compliance teams to ensure Purview solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Microsoft Purview product updates and assess their impact on client solutions.
• Champion personal growth and learning to deepen expertise in relevant trends, technology stacks, and innovation strategies.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of internal best practices and knowledge sharing.
What You Bring To The Role
• 5+ years of consulting experience with leading systems integrators.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Advanced knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Purview capabilities, including how they integrate to address common data governance, security, and compliance challenges.
• Proven ability to design and implement information architectures and governance solutions using Microsoft Purview, including Information Protection & Governance configurations, eDiscovery, retention/disposition, and sensitivity labels.
• Knowledge and working experience with Microsoft 365, Copilot, and Azure.
• Experience working in client‑facing roles across a variety of industries and businesses; familiarity with project delivery methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing and presenting findings, recommendations, and deliverables to technical and business audiences at all organizational levels.
• Relevant Microsoft and industry certifications.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks.
KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
