About Your Role
We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to take the lead in developing our backend systems and architecture. This is a unique chance to own critical systems from the ground up, influencing architecture, scalability, and reliability.
You will engage in exciting challenges such as orchestrating multi-system workflows, processing large-scale data asynchronously, and securely executing AI-generated code, all while working closely with our applied AI team.
Your Responsibilities
• Design and develop the core workflow engine that integrates agents, data sources, and frontend interfaces.
• Build and optimize a TypeScript-based backend, incorporating asynchronous execution, retries, and reliable routines.
• Establish and manage integration layers for REST APIs, SQL databases, and various third-party systems.
• Collaborate with the applied AI engineering team to embed automation and intelligence across platforms.
• Set and promote best practices for backend architecture, reliability, and developer experience as the company grows.
Who You Are (Must-Haves)
• 4-15 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern backend architectures.
• Proven experience designing complex data models and managing asynchronous tasks/workflows.
• P prior work experience in early-stage startups or high-growth environments.
• Experience integrating multiple systems, with a focus on REST APIs and SQL.
• Passionate about developing scalable systems and thriving in a startup culture.
• Exceptional problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Additional Skills (Nice-to-Haves)
• Experience with building or integrating AI / LLM-powered applications.
• Familiarity with Temporal or similar orchestration and workflow systems.
• Exposure to modern backend frameworks or cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes).
