As a valued member of our team, you will: • Offer strategic counsel: Engage in projects affecting various business lines, deepening your understanding of our operations and regulatory environment to facilitate innovative solutions. • Bridge legal and business objectives: Function as a trusted advisor by effectively bridging business goals and legal requirements, ensuring seamless communication among stakeholders. • Encourage innovation: Collaborate with colleagues across the Legal Department, including the Intellectual Property team, to navigate complex risks and propel responsible innovation forward. Basic Qualifications: • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school • Active member in good standing of at least one state bar • At least 4 years of legal experience in law firms, government agencies, military judicial roles, or as in-house counsel Preferred Qualifications: • Genuine passion for technology • 2+ years of experience with AI-specific legislation and risk management frameworks • 2+ years of experience in data privacy laws • Experience with AI/ML research agreements and generative AI service contracts Salary Information: The minimum and maximum annual salaries for this role, depending on location, are as follows: • McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 • New York, NY: $210,500 - $240,300 • Richmond, VA: $175,500 - $200,300 • Riverwoods, IL: $175,500 - $200,300 Capital One offers a comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being.
