Senior AI Agent Engineer (LLM / Agentic Systems) — Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid) $150,000–$200,000 base + 20% bonus HD Tech are partnering with a VC-backed, AI-driven SaaS company transforming corporate finance operations through intelligent automation across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The platform combines modern LLMs with orchestration and workflow intelligence to reduce repetitive work, improve visibility into cash performance, and accelerate business outcomes for finance and accounting teams. You will design, build, and deploy production-grade agentic systems that automate complex finance workflows with appropriate controls and human oversight. What you’ll be doing • Build and deploy agentic AI systems using Python, LangGraph, and LangChain • Design multi-agent architectures to automate complex enterprise workflows with approval/oversight steps • Integrate agents with enterprise APIs, databases, and internal tools (function calling / tool use) • Develop and maintain MCP servers and agent-to-agent (A2A) communication patterns • Evaluate and apply modern LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama) based on performance/cost • Build RAG pipelines, prompt frameworks, and (where needed) multi-modal document understanding • Implement state machines, memory, and adaptive reasoning modules for robust autonomous behaviour • Improve observability and reliability with monitoring/evaluation/debugging (Langfuse, LangSmith, Arize, etc.) • Collaborate with product/engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions • Contribute to engineering standards, internal tooling, and best practices (and mentor where appropriate) What we’re looking for • 5+ years software engineering experience, including 2+ years in AI/ML or agentic AI systems • Strong Python engineering (async patterns, testing, type hints, clean system design) • Hands-on experience with LLMs, LangGraph/LangChain, and RAG • Experience integrating AI systems with enterprise APIs and data layers • Familiarity with observability/monitoring and production deployment patterns • Strong cloud-native engineering mindset (microservices, reliability, testing, CI/CD) Nice to have • MCP servers/clients, A2A communication, or multi-modal LLM experience • FinTech, finance systems, audit workflows, or enterprise automation exposure • Fine-tuning familiarity (LoRA/QLoRA/PEFT) and responsible AI practices • Distributed systems / orchestration experience Location & eligibility • Must be located in (or commuting distance to) Santa Clara, CA • Must be authorized to work in the US (no sponsorship available) Compensation • $150,000–$200,000 base + 20% bonus • Additional benefits and incentive package discussed at interview Interested?
