Security Officer -Full time (Temporary)

TITLE: Security Officer DEPARTMENT: Security REPORTS TO: Security Supervisor & Security Manager STATUS: Full-Time Temporary- Position LOCATION: VFS Office - 3500 Cornett Rd. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY / JOB PURPOSE: The Security Officer is the first point of contact for people requiring admittance to the Studios. Officers must follow all protocol requirements as per the Company’s security procedure protocol list. General duties include: • Perform perimeter and lot patrols regularly. • Maintain a high visibility presence on the lot. • Actively update your Activity Log throughout your shift. • Complete detailed incident reports when necessary. • Assist and provide help to customers and clients on the VFS lot. • Monitor all cameras and surveillance equipment. • Other duties as required, but not limited to, i.e., removal of deceased rodent, turn off water valves, check for leaks, escort client to vehicle off lot, etc… SKILLS REQUIRED: • Calm and professional demeanor. • Detail-oriented and diligent with paperwork. • Ability to handle conflict with tact and diplomacy. • Ability to work alone or closely with a team member. • Good judge of character. • Basic Security Training certification- mandatory, • Driver’s License preferred. The standard work hours for this role are from 30 to 40 hours per week. The days of work and start and end times of shifts may be adjusted by your supervisor. Occasionally, overtime may be required to address emergencies, cover shifts, or handle special contingencies COMPENSATION: • Hourly rate: $24 p/ hour • Temporary contract position • No benefits associated with this role • Vacation pay and statutory holiday pay are provided in line with employment standards All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
