Position: Scrum Master, Automation Employment Type: Permanent Compensation Details • Scrum Master 18: Salaries typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive. Location: • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change) • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, or Laval. • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria. Team Overview The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC: • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation. • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization. • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade. • Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences. As EDC aims to be the leader in making Canada and the World better through trade, the Digital Platform Delivery & Architecture (DPDA) group in EDC plays a critical role in enabling the business to leverage technologies by providing an easy-to-use, secure and fit-for-purpose digital business platforms.  To position ourselves for success, the Automation team within DPDA is seeking an Automation Scrum Master to guide and enable the delivery of scalable, high-performing automation solutions within our financial services ecosystem. The automation toolset currently includes UiPath, ServiceNow CSM & Automation Centre, Power Apps, and Azure AI. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to empower teams to deliver innovative Automation solutions that truly make a difference for our business and improve our operational efficiency. You’ll facilitate collaboration on high-value projects within the financial sector, ensuring Agile principles guide the work and help the team leverage the latest technologies to foster growth and innovation. What You Will Be Doing • Facilitate Agile Delivery: Lead Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives) and ensure work is well-defined, prioritized, and progressing as planned. • Remove Impediments: Act as the primary point of escalation for delivery blockers, risks, and dependencies; develop and execute recovery plans when needed. • Drive Continuous Improvement: Facilitate retrospectives and implement process improvements to enhance team performance, collaboration, and delivery efficiency. • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to EDC’s delivery lifecycle, governance standards, and quality assurance practices across automation solutions. • Metrics & Reporting: Track and communicate key Agile delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, throughput) and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders and leadership. • Dependency & Release Management: Coordinate dependencies across squads and platforms; ensure readiness for releases and smooth transitions into development. • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders; foster cross-functional collaboration to align priorities and manage expectations. • Citizen Development Enablement: Support the Citizen Developer Program by coaching, providing guidance, and ensuring governance compliance for citizen-led initiatives. • Tooling Optimization: Leverage and optimize Agile tools (Azure DevOps, Planview) to improve visibility, planning, and delivery efficiency. • Budget & Procurement Oversight: Under the direction of the Director, manage squad-level budget and procurement activities. What We Are Looking For • Completed an undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce or Business Administration. • Minimum 7 years as a dedicated Agile Project Manager. • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Agile principles, DevOps and the Scrum and Kanban Frameworks. What Will Make You Stand Out • Scrum Master and/or Project Manager certification (e.g. PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, DASSM). • Knowledge of AzureDevOps and Planview applications. • Knowledge of automation platforms and practices, including UiPath and ServiceNow Automation Centre. • Familiarity with Agentic AI concepts and frameworks for enabling intelligent automation. • Project management experience. • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
