Title: Scrum Master
Location: Rosemead, CA, Hybrid-Tue & Wed only
Duration: 12+ months
Rate: $80/hr on W2
Key Responsibilities : Agile Delivery & Team Execution
• Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional teams delivering solutions supporting electric utility operations, grid modernization, or enterprise platforms.
• Facilitate all core Agile ceremonies with a strong emphasis on preparation, outcomes, and continuous improvement.
• Apply Scrum and Agile practices pragmatically within a regulated utility environment, aligning delivery with compliance, audit, and operational constraints.
• Track and communicate delivery health using metrics such as sprint predictability, velocity trends, dependencies, and risks.
Program & Stakeholder Alignment
• Partner closely with Product Owners, Program Managers, Architects, and Engineering Leads to manage priorities, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, including technology leaders and operational partners.
• Coordinate delivery across multiple teams and vendors, particularly when work spans IT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operational technology domains.
• Support hybrid delivery models (Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, or blended), as commonly found in large utility programs.
Coaching, Leadership & Continuous Improvement
• Coach teams and leaders on Agile principles, Scrum discipline, and servant leadership.
• Identify, escalate, and help resolve impediments that impact delivery timelines, quality, or operational readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics analysis, and actionable follow-through.
• Help teams mature toward predictable, self-managing delivery while maintaining strong alignment with enterprise governance.
Electric Utility Context
• Operate effectively within safety-first, reliability-driven environments where system uptime and regulatory compliance are paramount.
• Support initiatives related to grid modernization, transmission and distribution systems, asset management, outage management, AMI, or customer platforms.
• Collaborate across IT and OT stakeholders, recognizing differing risk profiles, release cadences, and validation requirements.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in Agile delivery roles, with at least 4+ years as a Scrum Master on complex enterprise initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience within the electric utility industry or similarly regulated, critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of Scrum, Agile, and Lean practices, with the ability to adapt them without losing discipline.
• Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and lead conversations around delivery health and risk.
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation, system modernization, or infrastructure-adjacent technology programs.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in scaled Agile environments (SAFe or equivalent).
• Exposure to IT/OT convergence, grid operations, or cybersecurity initiatives.
• Prior experience supporting grid modernization or digital utility programs.
• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II); SAFe certification is a plus. What Success Looks Like
