Title: System Engineer (SCCM/SCOM) Location: Chicago, IL ( hybrid onsite ) Needs to be local only Duration: 6 months with extension Job Descriptions: • Want someone who can work well with all aspects of servers - SCCM/SCOM/VMWARE/Dynatrace. • They will have about 200 servers and will need to troubleshoot any issues with those servers. • They have an aging team, some youth that's willing to do repetitive work would be a good option Some of the skills needed are going to be: • Senior level enterprise experience working on and most importantly troubleshooting the Windows server operating system and failover cluster manager. • Microsoft System Center o SCCM/SCOM/Orchestrator • VMware knowledge • Scripting There are a lot of different technologies that are used at United and within the team that we get involved with are able to learn to grow out skillsets. The timing is mostly during the day (8-4), but this being a 24x7 operation there is night work and there is an overnight on-call rotation Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience Description: • End to end responsibility for server operations, including OS, hardware, patching, firmware, bios, and service packs. • Maintain and manage server hardware and software to ensure stability and availability 24X7X365. • Ensure enterprise standards and security are maintained and enforced on hardware/software. • Provide knowledge and troubleshooting expertise during incidents and problem management follow-up. • Provide problem resolution/root cause analysis and advice on problem avoidance, institute changes or update to ensure stability. • Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming. Implement releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment. • Ensure platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning. Duties may include capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance/administration, performance tuning and diagnostics. Skill-set Details: • 3-5 years of IT experience supporting larger datacenter environments with an excess of 1,500 servers and wide geographical dispersion. • Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCTP-EA, MCSE, MCSA) a plus. • Windows 2012 - 2022, Microsoft infrastructure services: Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, SCOM/SCCM and server maintenance including patching of standalone and clustered servers. • Windows Server Clustering • Load Balancing Technologies (F5) • System Center Experience • Config Manager (SCCM) • Operations Manager (SCOM) • Orchestrator • PowerShell or Scripting Experience • VMware experience is needed • Patch Management • Large Server Environments • Service Now experience is a plus • Strong Work Ethic • Strong Written/Verbal Communication • Change Management/ITIL Experience • D/R Experience
