Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester to validate end-to-end satellite messaging capabilities on Android devices using Google Messages across multiple carriers. The role involves rigorous testing of connectivity, messaging protocols, and feature reliability in diverse network conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Execute manual test cases for Satellite SMS, Emergency SOS via Satellite, and location sharing via NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks).
Validate seamless handoff between Wi-Fi, Cellular (LTE/5G), and Satellite connectivity.
Perform log collection and analysis using tools like ADB, Logcat, QXDM, Wireshark, and bug reports.
Conduct regression testing to ensure Android OS updates or security patches do not impact satellite connectivity or battery performance.
Create, maintain, and execute test cases (Regression, Smoke, etc.), and manage bug identification, reporting, tracking, and retesting.
Perform field testing in varied terrains and weather conditions to validate antenna performance and line-of-sight requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Testing Experience: Minimum 3 – 5 + years in manual testing, primarily on Android devices and carrier network testing.
Domain Knowledge: Basic understanding of mobile connectivity (5G, LTE, SIM/eSIM, APNs, roaming).
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with software testing methodologies and defect triage processes.
Ability to diagnose and resolve defects using logs, code, and metrics.
Tools: Proficiency with ADB, Logcat, QXDM, Wireshark, and other diagnostic tools.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
