Job Title: Salesforce Application Developer (Public Sector) Location: Chicago, IL Employment Type: Full-time / Contract
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Application Developer to support and enhance Salesforce solutions for public sector clients, including state and local government agencies. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Salesforce development experience, understands government security and integration requirements, and can work closely with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance Salesforce applications supporting public sector business processes
Build and maintain OmniScript flows, integrations, and user-driven workflows
Develop and manage API integrations with internal and external systems (REST/SOAP)
Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and compliant implementations
Implement Salesforce best practices for performance, scalability, and maintainability
Support data integrations, validation, and transformation across systems
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and solution architecture planning
Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and performance issues
Ensure solutions comply with public sector security, privacy, and governance standards
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Salesforce application development experience
Proven experience delivering Salesforce solutions in the public sector (state or local government preferred)
Strong experience with OmniScript flows
Hands-on experience with API integrations (REST, SOAP, middleware platforms)
Solid understanding of networking and security concepts, including:
Authentication & authorization
Secure data exchange
Role-based access and data protection
Experience Working In Regulated Environments With Strict Compliance Requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, OmniStudio, or equivalent)
Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems (ERP, CMS, identity platforms, document management, etc.)
Familiarity with government security standards and practices
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
Local to Chicago, IL and available for occasional onsite collaboration
