New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Research AI Scientist reporting to Research Data Scientist II.
This role will leverage cutting-edge machine learning techniques and contribute to advancing our AI capabilities. This role will be instrumental in developing algorithms that solve complex problems and enhance our product offerings, making a significant impact on our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with faculty and researchers through collaboration and support to advance their research work using AI (NLP, ML & CV) Conduct research on machine learning and artificial intelligence methodologies to develop novel algorithms that drive product innovationDesign and execute experiments to validate hypotheses, analyze data, and derive actionable insightsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing products and workflowsConduct training, engagement and outreach to the researcher and faculty community
Qualifications
Required Education:
Master's Degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related fieldPreferred Education:
Doctoral Degree in a related fieldRequired Experience:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, scikit etc.) and experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorchStrong background in statistical analysis and data modeling techniquesDeep understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applicationsExperience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluationStrong coding skills in Python or similar languages, with experience in version control systems like GitAbility to develop applications using Machine Learning and Artificial IntelligenceAbility to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audienceAbility to keep up to date with technological advancesAbility to work in a team-based environment and contribute positively to itAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a teamAbility to work with individuals at all levels and diplomatically manages their expectationsCreative problem-solving abilities and initiativesStrong organizational skillsStrong presentation and report writing skillsExcellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills are essentialAbility to manage conflicting priorities in an effective and professional mannerPreferred Experience:
Experience with large-scale machine learning systems and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)Familiarity with reinforcement learning, natural language processing, or computer visionDemonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate complex concepts effectivelyProficiency with popular GenAI tools and frameworks (e.g. OpenAI ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama)Experience at working at a research university HPC center is highly preferred
