Position Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to assist in the development and implementation of the Nano Nuclear Energy quality assurance program as we move toward initial construction of our Kronos MMR. The position reports to the Director of Quality Assurance and is on-site at our facility in Oak Brook, Illinois. You'll work independently with limited supervision, applying your knowledge to projects and processes. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in engineering or in a related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree. • 5 years of experience in quality assurance, with 2 years nuclear quality experience in a Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), or similar environment. • Knowledge of Quality standards such as ISO 9001, ASME NQA-1, and ASME III. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work and demonstrate critical thinking individually and as part of a diverse team. • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever-changing needs. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with nuclear construction or manufacturing processes. • Experience with commercial grade dedication. • Previous certification in non-destructive examination. • Knowledge of CSA N286/N299 Standards. • Qualified NQA-1 lead auditor certification or the ability to qualify within 1 year highly desirable. Special Requirements • This position requires access to safety related material and facilities. As such, passing a background check and a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program is required. • This position may require access to radiologically controlled areas. Ability to meet all safety requirements is mandatory. • Business travel to support supplier surveys and/or company audits. Salary Range The estimated base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
