**DevOps / Automated Testing Expert**
• *The Opportunity**
The anticipated term of this opportunity is from an available **start date of January 2, 2025 **for up to 3 months.
• *Project Context**
The BC Government is seeking qualified vendor-provided resources to support Business Communication Solutions (BCS) Branch, the Media Monitoring and Insights (MMI) solution, and the modernization one of the Province’s Web platforms. These resources will address the recommendations and observations of an external review, implementing modern development practices, and improving usability and sustainability.
• *Background**
Resources should have the ability to bring innovative approaches to solve problems related to legacy systems and offer solutions that adhere to modern software development practices (e.g., cloud-native, microservices architecture). Vendors must demonstrate the capacity to provide adequate staffing to meet timelines and milestones; and the ability to scale resources up or down based on the project’s needs.
• *Consultant Qualifications**
The Technical & Web Solutions Architect will be responsible for contributing to the modernization and optimization of the technical framework. This role includes contributing to the design of a modular, scalable architecture and ensuring seamless integration of new components.
• *Qualifications**:
• *Experience**:
- Minimum of 5-8 years in architecture with a strong focus on designing and implementing scalable, secure solutions for public sector or large-scale digital transformation projects.
• *Technical Expertise**:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and expertise in designing cloud-native architectures.
- Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, and modular architecture.
- Advanced knowledge of security standards and best practices, especially in public sector compliance, including data protection and privacy regulations.
• *Skills**:
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills to assess existing architectures and propose practical solutions.
- Proven ability to document technical requirements, develop roadmaps, and create architectural blueprints.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical information for diverse stakeholders.
• *Certifications (preferred)**: OpenShift, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Contract length: 3 months
Pay: Up to $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
