Job Description
Job Title: Python Developer/Data Engineer
Location – New York / New Jersey (Hybrid on-site)
Contract & FTE Both
Must - Python Developer/Data Engineer with strong AWS (Glue, Lambda functions), Spark, Oracle / SQL
(Householding program)
1. Current system: Legacy older system is with .Net and on-prem SQL Server
2. Objective: Plan is to migrate to AWS cloud and rebuild functionality for Commonwealth (new acquisition)
3. Timeline: Work began in July last year; code is in production in ‘dark mode’ with monthly/bi-monthly pushes. First go-live is targeted for Q1 with a subset of users and functionality
4. Teams: currently 4 to 5 teams exist (about 6 to 8ppl in each team); plan is to scale to about 6 teams; start development in February
5. The ask:
• Need roughly 10 engineers for now; overall slots are around 20; 60/40 onshore/offshore
• Wipro to provide leads who manage delivery without burdening the client
• Python for batch work; Glue (python+Spark)
• Angular development
• Minimal terraform expected; use existing AWS infrastructure wherever possible
• Quality Engineering is a major pain; can use help here
Skills Needed:-
