Production Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW The Production Technician is responsible for fabricating and finishing high-quality signage with precision, using the tools and equipment of our production department. This role requires a strong understanding of production processes, materials, equipment, and quality standards, along with the ability to manage timelines effectively. The Production Technician also oversees aspects of project management for department-specific orders, ensuring each project is completed efficiently and to the highest standard. JOB FUNCTIONS Production Duties • Departmental organization (equipment, materials, work-in-progress, work orders, etc.) • Provide accurate status updates on projects to the Production Coordinator • Develop, create, and adhere to processes and procedures • Participate in managing department inventory • Update organizational documents as required, such as the Purchase Order Log, etc. • Efficiently operate all department resources, such as the laminator, Keencut, vinyl application/removal tools, drill press, grommet machine, heat welder, paint supplies, bench router, table saw, etc. • Maintain the operating integrity of department equipment and associated parts • Assist with installations, deliveries, and pick-ups when necessary • Ensure the ordering of material is from approved sources • Look for new and innovative uses for technology in the production of signage Team Participation Duties • Participate in staff meetings and initiatives • Participate in shop cleanliness and organization initiatives • Utilize a task management system to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly objectives are met • Adhere to all corporate policies and assist in their development • Offer support and assistance in other areas of the business as required Compensation and Benefits MMS offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including: • Starting from $20/hour • A discretionary annual bonus • Two weeks of vacation • Critical illness insurance • Long-term disability insurance • Group life insurance • Dental care coverage • Major medical insurance • Prescription drug coverage We have full-time and part-time opportunities available for this position. Location and Hours of Work • This position is based out of our shop at 1624 Michael Street in Ottawa. • Full-time positions are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start times between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. • Part-time positions offer flexible hours and schedules, to be discussed during the hiring process.
