Overview Job Category: Sales The Salesforce Cloud Technical Architect is a pre-sales, customer-facing enterprise domain expert applying broad technical skills, with industry knowledge and business acumen. This role supports sales teams in developing Salesforce value propositions that align to customers’ business strategies on digital transformation and cloud adoption. The architect is a subject matter expert in one or more categories including business strategy, application architecture, data & information, integration, security, cloud computing, AI, distributed platforms, mobile, and analytics. With a blend of technical and sales skills, the architect uses a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements and determines which Salesforce and third-party technologies to leverage in customer-driven architectures, based on product knowledge, industry experience, and Salesforce architecture methodologies. The role leads discussions around change programs from both business and technical perspectives and helps develop repeatable propositions and go-to-market strategies. The architect participates in delivering solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions, and industry summits to customers, partners, and internal audiences. Responsibilities • Apply broad technical skills and industry knowledge to develop Salesforce value propositions aligned to customer business strategies on digital transformation and cloud adoption. • Lead key discussions around change programs from business and technical perspectives. • Develop specific, repeatable propositions and go-to-market strategies with sales teams. • Contribute to delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, and educational sessions. Baseline Requirements • Ability to understand business and IT requirements, translate them into a compelling solution, and present recommendations to executive, technical, and business audiences. • Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and their delivery. • Some coding experience and willingness to work with code (Apex, Node, Go, R, Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, etc.). • Database and data management fundamentals. • Web and mobile application development and architecture. • Application lifecycle management. • Integration principles and tools. • Enterprise data management tools and methods. • Process orchestration. • Principles of network, application, and information security. • Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication and relationship skills. • Strategic problem solver, thought leadership, and comfort communicating with executive audiences. • Excellent time management and ability to support multiple concurrent projects. • Lifelong learner with curiosity, practicality, and passion for technology and sharing knowledge. • Willing and able to travel domestically. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, MIS or related STEM fields, or equivalent work experience. Graduate study a plus. Preferred Requirements • Experience as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant, or developer in a customer-facing role delivering differentiated software solutions. • Hands-on experience building, implementing, administering, or maintaining enterprise software. • Understanding of risk mitigation, compliance, and security in enterprise software. • Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery, or other innovation techniques. • Knowledge of Salesforce platform, including Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges. Core Skills & Experience • Ability to understand complex business and IT requirements and translate them into compelling solutions for executive, technical, and business audiences. • Coding and scripting experience in relevant languages. • Solid understanding of data management, web/mobile development, and system architecture. • Expertise in application lifecycle management, process orchestration, and enterprise integration. • Strong grasp of network, application, and information security principles. Agentic AI & Generative AI And Platform Desired Skills • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with agentic AI, Agentforce, prompt engineering for LLMs, and generative AI architecture. • Data360: understanding of Salesforce Data360 for unifying, harmonizing, and activating customer data. • Flow & Orchestration: proficiency with Salesforce Flow for orchestrating complex business processes involving AI agents. Professional & Strategic Competencies • Communication & Leadership: strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills; capable of engaging with executive audiences. • Project Management: excellent time management and multitasking. • Continuous Learning: lifelong learner who is inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge. • Travel: willing and able to travel domestically. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, MIS or related STEM fields; graduate study is a plus.
