A Chief Solution Architect focused on Industry 4.0 Innovations is responsible for crafting and supervising the implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure solutions that utilize cutting-edge technologies such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), AI/ML, and cloud computing. This role is pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency, productivity, and data-driven decision-making within the manufacturing sector. You will convert business needs into technical frameworks, manage technology integration, and offer technical leadership throughout project lifecycles. Main Responsibilities: • Architectural Development: • Create detailed architectural designs for Industry 4.0 solutions, including system blueprints, data flows, and integration schematics. • Design solutions leveraging IIoT, digital twins, predictive maintenance, and real-time analytics to refine manufacturing processes. • Ensure all designs adhere to enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards to protect data integrity. • Technology Assessment: • Research and recommend cutting-edge technologies and suitable hardware and integration frameworks. • Align technology selections with client goals, ensuring scalability and adaptability to future needs. • OT and IT Synergy: • Manage the integration of operational technologies like PLCs and SCADA with IT systems such as MES and ERP. • Enable seamless data interchange between shop-floor automation systems and enterprise-level applications. • Collaboration with Stakeholders: • Engage with business leaders and engineering teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions. • Ensure proposed solutions are aligned with client objectives and operational needs. • Technical Guidance: • Mentor development teams during the solution implementation phase. • Conduct technical evaluations to resolve complexities and uphold performance and security benchmarks. • Project Oversight: • Lead the execution of Industry 4.0 initiatives from initial concept through to deployment. • Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams to successfully implement smart factory initiatives. • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and industry best practices. • Client Engagement: • Serve as a trusted advisor, addressing business challenges with effective technical strategies. • Organize workshops, assessments, and roadmap planning sessions to assist clients in their digital transformation. • Support pre-sales functions, including responding to RFPs and providing solution demonstrations. • Driving Innovation: • Stay informed on the latest advancements in IIoT, AI, cloud technology, and Industry 4.0. • Contribute to the creation of reusable frameworks and architectures to enhance innovation. • Risk Management: • Identify and evaluate risks linked to solution implementation. • Devise and execute strategies to mitigate risks ensuring project success. • Documentation and Compliance: • Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation throughout project stages. • Participate in the formulation and enforcement of IT/OT governance frameworks to maintain secure operations. Essential Skills and Qualifications: • Education & Experience: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related discipline. • A minimum of 15 years experience in manufacturing operations management or industrial automation. • Technical Skills: • Thorough knowledge of industry standards like ISA-95, ISA-88, and manufacturing IT systems. • Expertise in OT technologies such as MES, SCADA, PLC, and HMI. • Proficient in cloud services (Azure, AWS, etc.) and low-code/no-code platforms (Ignition, ThingWorx, etc.). • Familiar with industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT) and edge computing options. • Experience with data architecture including SQL, NoSQL, and real-time data streaming. • Basic understanding of IT/OT networks, microservices, APIs, and security principles. • Aware of emerging technologies like GenAI and Agentic AI within Industry 4.0 frameworks. • Manufacturing Insights: • Solid grasp of manufacturing processes, including production planning and quality management. • Analytical Abilities: • Strong analytical skills for solving complex business issues and formulating structured technical solutions. • Interpersonal Skills: • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities for diverse teams. • Ability to lead cross-functional groups and clearly convey technical concepts to a variety of audiences. Preferred Certifications: • Certifications in Azure/AWS Solutions Architecture and TOGAF or similar are highly regarded.
