Agilus is recruiting for several Overnight Splicers in the Micro-Electronics Industry in Ottawa, Ontario.
Our client is seeking a Splicer for their manufacturing/assembly area. This is an overnight position from 12 am - 8 am. The Splicer's primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables, ensuring seamless data transmission. This involves splicing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cables.
Responsibilities:
• Manipulating fiber optic cables to ensure working connectivity
• Testing, calibrating, identifying, and troubleshooting any issues that arise
• Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders, and reports
• Using software such as SmartPRL, Agile, and Excel to document and maintain projects
Requirements:
• High School Diploma, minimum
• Fusion splicing &/or mechanical splicing experience needed
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Hands-on experience with splicing instruments such as fusion splicers, recoaters, strippers, and cleavers
• Previous overnight work experience is ideal
You'll receive:
• $19.00 hourly
• 15% overnight shift premium on top of base rate, up to 37.5 hours
• 4% vacation paid out weekly
• Consistent Monday - Friday schedule
• Free on-site parking
