Job Description
Rothe is seeking a skilled OpenShift/Linux Administrator to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing and maintaining OpenShift environments, along with solid Linux system administration expertise. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our OpenShift clusters and supporting infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenShift Container Platform clusters.
• Monitor and troubleshoot OpenShift environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Integrate and manage object data storage solutions to support containerized and Linux workloads.
• Maintain and administer Linux servers supporting OpenShift infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
• Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting and configuration management tools.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support containerized applications.
• Implement and maintain security best practices within OpenShift and Linux environments.
• Perform backup and disaster recovery operations for OpenShift clusters.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Skills And Qualifications
• Proven experience as an OpenShift Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong Linux system administration skills (Red Hat, CentOS, or similar distributions).
• Experience with container orchestration and management using OpenShift.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and architecture.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and security concepts related to container platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

Position Details
• On‑site position at a government facility in Houston, Texas
• Salary range: $92,000–$110,000 annually
