Emphasis is on maintaining the highest level of availability of security systems and meeting customer expectations. Responsible for programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting integrated security systems, including servers, networks, GUI and endpoint devices. Provides timely response and resolution to critical and non-critical requests for service to mitigate penalty risk. • *How you will do it** Configures and maintains integrated security systems that utilize Access Control, CCTV, Digital Video, Intrusion, and Perimeter as defined by the project specification or scope of work on projects while maintaining quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. - Responsible for total system operation. Troubleshoots system issues and work with subcontractors and other trades to restore to operation within strict timelines. - Performs static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) security system testing independently. Configures operator workstations and all required software. - Orders material from both internal sources and/or external vendors and expedites as necessary. Ensures timely delivery to appropriate locations. - Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network tester, and laptop computer. - Communicates with Johnson Controls project management and/or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Keeps customers informed on progress. Review customer’s systems and, if needed, point out other areas of improvement. Keeps management apprised of customer concerns and issues. - Builds the JCI knowledge database using rigorous and accurate documentation of systems and support flows. - Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system. Communicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers, and other sub-contractors as required. - Makes use of existing systems library to ensure the job is engineered with maximum efficiency. - Works from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operates a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations. - Modifies and updates As-Built security system layouts and installation drawings when changes on site are required. - Adheres to all JCI policies and safety standards while carrying out duties. Ensure employee and sub-contractor safety. - Attends all technical certification training including 3rd-party partners. - Serve as a technical resource assisting in sales engineering the development of cost and scope estimates on retrofit and lifecycle projects as needed. Reviews project submission package. - Performs other related duties as assigned. • *What we look for** • *Required** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science. - An Associate's degree in one of the above with 2 years related experience. - Experience within the security industry and/or in a Facility Maintenance environment is preferred. Consideration will also be given to individuals with substantial hands-on technical industry experience. - Willing to participate in on-call rotations and/or split shifts based on customer requirements. - Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills while representing the company to customers and other outside contacts. - Able to communicate
