Senior Java API Developer (Remote)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Java API Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support business-critical applications.
Location: Pleasanton, CA, US (Remote)
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain RESTful and SOAP web services using Core Java and Spring Boot.
• Build, deploy, and support Spring Boot microservices in a cloud environment.
• Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit to ensure code quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in QA and production environments.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, grooming sessions, and sprint planning.
• Collaborate with performance and product support teams to address system issues.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• Strong understanding of Java/J2EE fundamentals: OOP, access specifiers, loops, exceptions, constructors, enums.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Frameworks: Spring MVC, Struts, Spring Boot.
• Business Logic: JTA, Spring Transaction Management.
• Data Processing: Spring Batch, JPA, Hibernate, Spring Data.
• Databases: Oracle, MySQL.
• Experience working in cloud environments, especially Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with IBM MQ and Oracle SQL is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze issues from multiple perspectives.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Self-starter with a proactive attitude and passion for learning new technologies.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be received by Jul 25th, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $80K- $110k depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
