Job Title:Network Engineer – Data Centre
Location : Montreal, QC, Canada - Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite & 2 days remote
Role Overview:
The Network Engineering team is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and troubleshoot enterprise-scale Data Centre networks. This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to deliver end-to-end network solutions, authoring design documents, and providing escalation support for complex network issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement large-scale network topologies for Data Centres.
• Develop Bill of Materials (BoM), Visio diagrams, and configuration templates.
• Participate in weekly design meetings and engage with project managers for execution plans.
• Serve as escalation point during network outages and provide weekend support for critical projects.
• Author engineering standards and best-practice architecture models.
• Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge transfer.
Required Skills:
• 5–7 years of experience in network engineering within financial services or technology firms.
• Expertise in Ethernet technologies (SPT, 802.1Q, VPC, Leaf-Spine IP Fabric).
• Strong knowledge of IP Routing (RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPBGP, TCP/IP) and Multicast routing (PIM, IGMP, MSDP).
• Experience with VxLAN and Cisco platforms (Nexus 9000, ASR 1000x/9000 series).
• Familiarity with Arista platforms and network OS (Cisco IOS, NXOS, IOS-XR, Arista EOS).
• Strong security focus and understanding of multi-tier security architectures.
Desired Skills:
• Certifications: CCIE or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python/Ansible scripting for automation.
• Experience with tools like DNA Center, Wireshark, Infoblox, HPNA, Splunk, Sevone.
• Knowledge of SDN, SD-WAN, DMVPN, and public cloud networking.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, VMware, and storage over IP.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience Level:
Level 3 (Senior Engineer).
