#NEW#Intermediate Application Analyst Programmer (JAVA) – 12 Months
We are partnering with a leading global financial institution seeking a hands-on Back-End Java Developer to join its Capital Markets IT division. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining core post-trade applications used globally. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that support critical banking operations.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about coding, system design, and applying technology to solve complex challenges in the finance domain.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, integrations, and batch processing workflows.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, QA engineers, and business analysts to deliver new features.
• Optimize system performance, implement best practices, and ensure scalable architecture.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high code quality.
• Build automated tests, support CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to deployment and release processes.
• Document technical design, architecture decisions, and system functionality.
Required Skills and Experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java development, with strong expertise in Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and REST API design.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Shell, Python).
• Knowledge of financial products and trade lifecycle (bonds, repos, securities lending, FX, credit, interest rate derivatives).
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
• Experience with capital markets platforms or post-trade systems.
• Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus.
• Exposure to SWIFT messaging and regulatory reporting.
