Job Summary: Join the team that stands at the intersection of technology and creativity at Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology. As a Senior Automation Engineering Lead, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and velocity of our digital products.
In this position, you will:
• Lead and mentor a talented team of automation engineers focused on delivering world-class applications.
• Oversee the development and support of test automation frameworks, execution environments, and reporting tools.
• Write robust code to establish and improve automation protocols and design proof of concepts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate complex tasks and ensure seamless integration.
• Provide training to end users and developers on automation toolsets.
• Define and utilize Key Performance Indicators to track project progress and quality.
• Contribute strategic insight into future initiatives with stakeholders and fellow engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any automation or tooling issues to maintain high service quality.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field with 7+ years of experience in software development (SDET), focusing on automated testing for both front-end and back-end services.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented development using languages such as Python, Java, or Node/JavaScript.
• 4+ years of test automation experience and familiarity with unit testing frameworks.
• 3+ years of team leadership experience.
• Experience working within Agile and Lean methodologies.
• Ability to derive critical quality KPIs to monitor product health.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in deploying production-grade applications using Flask, Django, React, or Node.js.
• Familiarity with mobile or living room application development and testing.
• Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS.
• Knowledge of test suite/case/run management tools.
Location: This position is based in Seattle, Washington, United States / Glendale, California, United States / San Francisco, California, United States / New York, New York, United States.
Compensation: The hiring range for this role is $159,500 - $213,900 per year in Seattle and New York, $152,200 - $204,100 in Glendale, and $166,800 - $223,600 in San Francisco, with additional benefits and bonuses based on performance and qualifications.
