💼 About the Role:
We are seeking an elite-level Scrum Master with a Doctorate (Ph.D. or
D.Sc.) in a technical or organizational field to lead agile transformation for a high-impact, innovation-driven program. In this role, you'll be embedded in a cross-functional product team delivering mission-critical technology solutions in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.
As a key servant-leader, you’ll drive agile maturity, eliminate blockers, and coach teams to consistently deliver value—on time, with purpose, and at scale.
This is a contract role paying $140/hour, with long-term potential for renewal and project leadership expansion.
🔧 Core Responsibilities:
• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews & Retrospectives) across one or more remote teams
• Act as a servant leader and agile coach to team members, product owners, and stakeholders
• Remove impediments and blockers, ensuring delivery velocity is optimized
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, self-organization, and cross-functionality
• Track key agile metrics (velocity, burn-downs, throughput) to inform data-driven decision-making
• Bridge communication between technical teams and business stakeholders
• Ensure alignment with enterprise Agile/SAFe frameworks if applicable
• Mentor team members on agile best practices, values, and roles
🧪 Key Tasks & Deliverables:
• Sprint coordination across globally distributed team members
• Backlog grooming support & agile board management (Jira, Azure Dev Ops, etc.)
• Stakeholder communication decks & agile reporting dashboards
• Conflict resolution, morale boosting, and agile health assessments
• Continuous agile training and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Retrospective action item follow-ups and accountability tracking
🎓 Required Qualifications:
• Doctorate degree (Ph.D.,
D.Sc., or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Organizational Psychology, Agile Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in mid-to-large agile environments
• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent)
• Deep understanding of Agile principles, Scrum frameworks, and Kanban methodologies
• Hands-on experience with Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops, Rally, etc.)
• Exceptional remote facilitation and virtual team leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal, coaching, and servant-leader mindset

• Experience working with healthcare, aerospace, or defense organizations
• Previous work in a scaled Agile framework (e.g., SAFe, LeSS)
• Knowledge of organizational change management or agile coaching
