Title: MySQL DBA engineer
Location: Toronto, ON(Hybrid)(3 days a week)
Duration: 6+ months
Job Description:
• 6-10 years of MySQL DBA experience with AWS infrastructure
• Experience on Github / Terraform as Infrastructure as code
• PSQL,TSQL & mysql CLI coding knowledge is required
• Postgres experience will be preferred
• Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases, ensuring high availability and performance both on-premises and cloud.
• Hands-on experience on major and minor version upgrades
• Monitor and optimize the performance of AWS Aurora MySQL databases, including proactive identification and resolution of issues to maintain high availability and performance.
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL architecture, storage engines (InnoDB), and replication techniques.
• Support for Aurora Postgres databases.
• Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime in case of failures.
• Design, develop, and implement databases in AWS cloud environments, aligning with the best scalability, security, and performance practices.
• Perform data migrations from Oracle to Postgres databases on AWS, ensuring seamless transitions and data integrity.
• Set up and maintain database replication for high availability and disaster recovery purposes.
• Establish and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data privacy best practices.
• Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and roles following the organization's security policies and requirements.
• Develop and execute database scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline operations.
• Monitor and analyze database activity, identify trends, and optimize query performance and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development, troubleshoot database-related issues, and provide technical guidance.
• Stay updated with the latest AWS database technologies, tools, and best practices, continuously evaluating their potential impact on our database environment
