**Responsibilities**:
- Understand engineering needs including those required to build, maintain, and operate the system through all phases of its life.
- Work with various services in AWS and GCP.
- Understanding of information modelling, data structures and algorithms
- Build and maintain high quality production grade microservices and pipelines to address various team’s needs.
- Work with end users to troubleshoot issues and gather feedback to improve existing and new services.
- Incorporate testing and instrumentation into your development workflow to ensure a product is reliable and measurable.
- Create and maintain continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Create and maintain tools for code quality control: code review, testing, coverage, monitoring, notification.
- Suggest new methods, processes, and new technologies for increasing the effectiveness of changes and of general production support improvements.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
• *Basic Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Hands on experience architecting, designing, developing, engineering and supporting production grade consumer facing software.
- Experience working in a distributed, cloud-based environment using Azure/AWS/GCP (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Experience in Java (8+) and Spring Boot
- Experience in Terraform/Infrastructure as Code
- Experience working with relational/NoSQL databases.
- Experience with modern SDLC tools, branching strategies, and ability to develop and enforce CI/CD practices.
• *Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience as an AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification a plus. (Other cloud-related certification also a plus.)
- Experience with TDD/BDD
- Developer level operations proficiency — ability to set up a machine, knowledge of networking, familiarity with load balancers, hypervisors, CDNs, etc.
