Corporate Controller – Confidential Public Company
📍 Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)

💰 Compensation: $250K – $300K base salary + annual discretionary bonus + long-term incentive plan

About the Role
A confidential, publicly traded organization is seeking a strategic and experienced Corporate Controller to lead its corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This high-impact role offers full ownership of SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and financial operations across a complex, multi-entity business.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of driving process improvements and financial integrity. This is a unique opportunity to partner with executive leadership and influence the financial direction of a dynamic, growth-oriented company.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the corporate accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Oversee preparation and filing of SEC reports (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Provide strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making
• Manage the annual audit process and relationships with external auditors
• Support integration of acquisitions, carveouts, and divestitures
• Oversee cost accounting, intercompany standardization, and ERP-related finance projects
• Present financial reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
Qualifications
• CPA required
• 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Experience in a publicly traded company with SEC reporting responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls
• Background in manufacturing, CPG, or multi-entity environments preferred
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives
• Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary: $250K – $300K annually
• Annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance
• Long-term incentive plan
• PTO offered on an accrual basis and prorated based on hire date within calendar year
