Manager, Artificial Intelligence Operations 3 days a week onsite Role Summary We are seeking a Manager, AI Operations to build and lead a net-new, enterprise-scale AI operations capability from the ground up. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for establishing the foundational AI platform (“AI landing zone”), defining governance and sustainment models, and ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable AI operations across the organization. The ideal candidate is a technically credible AI leader who thrives in ambiguity, blends deep hands-on expertise with strategic thinking, and can influence senior stakeholders while actively driving execution. This role balances innovation with operational discipline, ensuring AI solutions move safely and reliably from experimentation to production. Enterprise AI & Platform Leadership • 8+ years of experience in large, enterprise-scale environments (public or private sector), supporting mission-critical platforms with high reliability and uptime requirements • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating AI-enabled platforms, including: • Generative AI • Agentic AI (copilots, autonomous agents, digital assistants) • AI/ML workloads in cloud environments • Proven experience establishing greenfield platforms, with a strong understanding of how to design for long-term sustainability from day one AI Operations & Governance • Demonstrated experience operationalizing AI from pilot to production, including: • Defining AI infrastructure architecture and platform standards • Implementing governance, privacy, security, and responsible AI controls • Monitoring performance, accuracy, bias, and operational risk • Managing AI-related incidents, root-cause analysis, and mitigation Core Competencies Technical & Architectural Excellence • Deep understanding of AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, automation, and modern DevOps / MLOps practices • Ability to collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture, Data & Analytics, Cybersecurity, Legal, and Application Development teams • Strong grasp of operational best practices for mission-critical platforms, including: • High availability and resilience • Performance optimization • Cost management and FinOps • Secure access and identity management Education & Credentials • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field • Master’s degree preferred but not required • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered, particularly for candidates with strong hands-on AI platform leadership
