Job Description
We're looking for an experienced HL7 FHIR Specialist to support a provincial digital health initiative aimed at reducing administrative burden for frontline providers and improving care delivery through interoperable standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather requirements, conduct gap analyses, and develop HL7 FHIR implementation guides.
• Create, validate, and troubleshoot FHIR artifacts (technical specs, business narratives, terminology bindings).
• Collaborate with clinical, technical, and business stakeholders across care settings.
• Support testing, documentation, knowledge transfer, and governance presentations.
Must-Have Skills:
• 10+ years with HL7 FHIR, SNOMED CT, and LOINC in Canadian healthcare (acute/primary/community care).
• Hands-on experience with FHIR tooling: Simplifier, HL7 Validator, Forge, or FHIR Shorthand.
• Proven work in interoperability gap analysis, environmental scans, and FHIR implementation guide development.
• Strong skills in JSON/XML, stakeholder engagement, and managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with FHIR SDC, GitHub, and Ontario health information systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365/cloud tools and international digital health standards.
