Main purpose of the role: To be responsible for the CVE Assessment, patching and vulnerability management, hardening of all Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX Server, Solaris VM and IBM VIO and SLA Reporting. Roles & Responsibilities • Administer and support Linux/Unix server environments. • Work on RHEL, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX servers. • Manage and support cluster environments using Veritas cluster and GPFS. • Perform patch management and vulnerability management activities (Must Have). • Plan, assess, and execute OS, hardware, and firmware patching (Must Have). • Use patch management tools such as BigFix, SCCM, or equivalent (Must Have). • Conduct patch impact analysis and recommend deployment strategies. • Automate pre-patch and post-patch activities using scripts or automation tools. • Troubleshoot and resolve OS-level and hardware-related issues (Must Have). • Perform BIOS and firmware upgrades on enterprise servers. • Monitor and manage system logs, ensuring proactive issue detection. • Maintain and manage server monitoring and management tools. • Support high-availability and clustering configurations, including geo-clusters and active/passive setups. • Apply and maintain security best practices in system administration. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks. • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams. • Provide production support and participate in on-call rotations as required. Skills Required • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 8-12 years of Experience in Linux/Unix System Administration. • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills. • Good interpersonal Skills. • The candidate should have worked in an SLA driven environment. • Candidate must be hands-on and will be working, not just people management. • Lead the team effectively and ensure full participation/utilization. • Enable cross-skilling within the team and deliver continuous improvements in operations. • Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented and constantly changing environment. • Able to work on weekends as per Roster and perform On-call support (during weekdays) as and when needed.
