About the Role
In this role, Lighting Controls Specialist, based in our Vancouver office, you will support the AES Lighting Team by assisting, reviewing, recommending, and designing lighting control solutions for projects across all AES offices, including Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, and Calgary. You will work collaboratively with internal design teams and project stakeholders to support the coordination and implementation of lighting control systems across diverse building and infrastructure projects. This is a full-time hybrid position requiring a strong understanding of lighting control system design, building integration, and multi-disciplinary coordination.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop lighting control concepts for interior and exterior environments
• Prepare lighting control markups, circuiting, zoning, daylighting zones, occupancy/vacancy sensor layouts, general notes, and keynotes using PDF or AutoCAD
• Act as an internal advisor to AES electrical designer teams regarding lighting control design and coordination
• Coordinate integration of lighting control systems with AV, Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire Alarm, Security, Nurse Call, and other project systems as required
• Review lighting and lighting control shop drawings
• Develop written lighting control specifications based on project requirements
• Prepare lighting control system risers and technical details
• Develop sequences of operation
• Support ASHRAE compliance and completion of required forms
• Assist with LEED certification verification related to lighting control systems
• Perform other duties as assigned
Our Must Haves:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Bluebeam
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Basic working knowledge of REVIT is considered an asset but not required
• Basic working knowledge of AGI32 and/or DIALux is considered an asset but not required
Compensation: $80,000 to $88,000 (depending on experience)
