THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Lead Principal Data Engineer, you will lead diverse teams on transformative projects that deliver significant impact across various industries. Your expertise will be crucial in defining, designing, and delivering innovative solutions utilizing best-in-class DevSecOps practices, Agile methodologies, and a sophisticated tech stack.
You will collaborate closely with Oliver Wyman partners and engage directly with clients to tackle business challenges while crafting optimal solutions with the assistance of Performance Transformation specialists. Your ownership of technology and engineering responsibilities within a cross-functional team will encompass technology, data science, customer experience, and design.
As a hands-on product builder, you'll define architecture and tech stack while guiding the engineering team, working alongside product owners and designers. Your responsibilities will involve assessing build feasibility, operating costs, and security while ensuring performance, resiliency, and scalability are prioritized.

• Create innovative, cloud-native digital experiences that are scalable, resilient, and secure.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Engage in coding alongside your development team.
• Utilize cutting-edge technologies to solve real-world problems.
• Promote good agile practices for iterative product development.
• Build strong relationships with product managers, designers, and experts in customer experience.
• Encourage the sharing of best practices and insights across projects.
• Travel 10 - 25% as needed to collaborate with distributed teams or clients.
What you'll bring:
We seek a candidate with over 10 years of significant software engineering experience. You should excel in communication, thrive in a diverse environment, and effectively articulate technical strategies to various audiences.
Your background should include:
• Experience with scalable architecture and motivating software development teams.
• Hands-on development experience across a mix of languages and technologies.
• A passion for creating straightforward and effective solutions to customer challenges.
• Strong interpersonal skills that promote collaboration.
• Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Delivery.
• Capability to embrace uncertainty through consistent validated learning.
• Practical experience in refactoring, design patterns, system and application design, and application security.
• Experience in fast-moving small teams.
We also hope to see some knowledge or experience in:
• Working with structured and unstructured data.
• Multiple programming languages and frameworks, particularly JavaScript, NodeJS, React, Python, Go, or .NET.
• Application deployment on cloud-native infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, microservices).
• Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Basic familiarity with CX, HTML5/CSS3.
• Search technologies (Elastic/ELK, LucidWorks).
• Authentication/Authorization APIs (OKTA).

OUR SALARY RANGE
The salary range for this role is $240,000-$260,000 based on experience and qualifications. The position may also offer performance-based incentives.
