As a Lead Power Systems Engineer, you will become a vital part of our talented team, dedicated to creating integrated electrical designs. We deliver expert solutions across various domains, including medium and low voltage power distribution systems, power studies (such as short circuit, coordination, and arc flash), lighting design, and fire and life safety systems for transportation, aviation, water/wastewater facilities, mission-critical settings, and renewable energy initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to manage multiple projects, conducting essential design work, performing calculations, and preparing contract documents along with comprehensive design reports. Your role will include mentoring junior engineers, delegating tasks, and ensuring all drawings and specifications align with industry codes and standards. You will engage directly with clients, contractors, and vendors with minimal oversight. Key responsibilities include: • Designing comprehensive low and medium voltage electrical systems, including power supplies, emergency systems, battery systems, lighting, fire alarm, and signaling setups. • Leading the development of contract documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects. • Creating innovative lighting systems and control mechanisms. • Conducting load analyses at various project phases. • Generating detailed electrical system drawings tailored to each project. • Preparing thorough reports and technical documentation to support project goals. • Utilizing deep expertise in electrical engineering principles, best practices, and industry codes. • Selecting and drafting specifications for electrical equipment. • Collaborating with engineers from various disciplines and coordinating with project architects across different locations. • Delivering impactful presentations to clients and stakeholders. • Effectively managing multiple projects concurrently to meet tight deadlines. • Ensuring strict quality control and assurance for electrical engineering documents and estimates. • Mentoring junior staff to encourage their professional development. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). • Professional Engineer licensure. • Experience in a MEP firm, particularly with Mission Critical applications, designing medium-voltage distribution systems, and emergency generation. • Proficiency in Revit and 3D CADD software. • Familiarity with NFPA Standards. • Knowledge of related building systems (e.g., door finish hardware, IT building communications, lighting controls, and BAS networks) applicable to electrical systems.
