Preferred qualifications: • 3 years of work experience working with executive leaders. • Experience designing for mobile-first applications with millions of users. • Experience designing and shipping complex, large-scale consumer software or platform/foundational design systems. • Understanding of visual media and image editing tools. • Ability to drive alignment and collaboration across multiple, geographically distributed teams. Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $178,000-$265,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities • Define the long-term UX outlook and strategy, driving the creation of robust, accessible, and performant design guidelines and toolkits (adhering to the latest material design standards) to ensure seamless and scalable integration of photos functionality across all first-party and third-party surfaces and features. • Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of UX designers, setting clear performance goals, supporting career development, and managing strategic project allocation and resource planning across multiple high-priority initiatives. • Act as a key design partner to product and engineering leadership, influencing strategic decisions and product roadmaps, including cross-product area and partnership collaborations. • Oversee the end-to-end design process, from ideation and user research to prototyping, detailed specification, and implementation.
