A career at FMB is an opportunity to be part of a talented, diverse and inclusive team doing transformative work on a national scale. • *Position Overview** Reporting to the Director of Strategic Opportunities, the Junior Data Analyst is an entry-level position seeking and collecting relevant data, as well as documenting the information to be processed. The Junior Data Analyst provides support in statistical research and evaluation, statistical analysis, design and implementation of quantitative data collection tools, and current research and best practices. The Junior Data Analyst supports the coordination of tasks for data projects, include researching and creating effective methods to collect data, analyzing information, and recommending solutions. • *Accountabilities** - Supports the development of data-driven materials and documents, in coordination with internal and external partners and stakeholders; - Conducts research and develops business plans to support new activities and pilot projects; - Ensures relevant research is conducted on internal control and change management methodologies, tools, processes, and resources; - Undertakes data collection, preprocessing and analysis; - Researches and devises innovative statistical models for data analysis; - Keeps current with technical and industry developments; - Processes, cleans, and validates the integrity of data to be used for analysis; - Analyzes large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions; - Collaborate with colleagues, other Business Lines, and stakeholders; - Work with management to prioritize business and information needs; - Filters and “cleans” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems; - Provides support with technical writing and editing as required; - Develops analytics to identify trend lines across several data sources within the organization; - Undertakes operational research to identify and recommend optimal/near-optimal solutions to complex challenges; - Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases; - Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports; - Develops and implements databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. The Junior Data Analyst performs other special projects and duties as assigned. • *Qualifications** - University Degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or relevant field; - One years of experience in data and analytics or a related field; New graduate’s welcome; - Experience with all phases of statistical research and evaluation, including design, engagement, data collection, cleaning, preparation and quantitative analysis, and reporting; - Advanced computer skills including proficiency with MS Office and databases; - Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience; - Must have an understanding, awareness and appreciation of Indigenous culture and history; - Must be fluent in English (spoken and written); Fluency in French an asset.
