Sr. Staff Azure Cloud Engineer – LHH (Secaucus, NJ)
LHH is seeking a Sr. Staff Azure Cloud Engineer to support a broad range of IT systems and services, including our client's corporate virtualization environment. In this full-time, on-site role based in Secaucus, NJ, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to solving complex IT challenges.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and participate in engineering projects and new system implementations.
• Monitor performance of critical servers and applications.
• Recommend and manage hardware upgrades and software tuning.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Design and deploy cloud architecture and applications using Azure services.
• Build highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure across multiple regions and availability zones.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including specifications, procedures, and logs.
• Document all system changes, fixes, and processes.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud migrations with strong proficiency in Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Expertise in cloud identity and access management with a focus on security best practices.
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, PHP).
• Familiarity with security assessments using tools like Ansible and Prisma.
• Experience designing and maintaining automation scripts using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Skilled in implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of secure cloud architecture and least privilege access controls.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune for device management and security.
• Proven leadership in mentoring and supporting team members.
• Expertise in high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies.
• Deep knowledge of networking, including DNS, load balancers, gateways, and firewalls.
• In-depth experience with Azure networking services (e.g., Virtual WAN, VNETs, NSGs, Private Link, ExpressRoute, VPNs).
• Strong understanding of Azure security, IAM, policies, and management groups.
• Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS) is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-native automation, application deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools and practices.
• Experience with CMK and BYOK encryption models.
• Familiarity with AWS Workspace (VDI), Azure VDI, and custom image creation.
