As a Cloud Data Architect at EPAM Systems, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and designing cloud-based data solutions for our clients. You will leverage your expertise in cloud technologies and data architecture to provide strategic guidance, drive the implementation of data management and analytics solutions, and optimize data integration and processing pipelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions for a prestigious international client based in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements, data challenges, and goals, and translate them into effective cloud-based data architecture solutions
- Design end-to-end data architecture and data management solutions in cloud environments, considering scalability, security, performance, and cost optimization
- Develop data models, data integration strategies, and data processing pipelines to support efficient data ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval
- Evaluate and select appropriate cloud technologies, tools, and services to meet specific project requirements and ensure compatibility with existing data systems and infrastructure
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams, guiding them in implementing best practices, industry standards, and cloud data architecture principles
- Define test cases, conduct user acceptance testing, and troubleshoot issues
- Perform performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of cloud-based data systems to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in cloud technologies, data management, and analytics, and evaluate their applicability to ongoing and future projects
• *REQUIREMENTS**:
- 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on Azure and Databricks
- Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Storage solutions
- In-depth knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and data integration patterns
- Hands-on experience with Databricks notebooks, SQL, and Python for data transformation and processing
- Familiarity with data governance principles and data security practices in the context of cloud environments
- Proficiency in working with structured and unstructured data formats, such as CSV, JSON, and Parquet
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles
- Experience with data quality assessment, cleansing, and validation techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data engineering challenges
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate onsite

- You will be working on site, from our client's office in Doha
- The working schedule is 5 days a week, from Sunday to Thursday (In Qatar, weekend is Friday to Saturday)
