• Serve as the Lead Designer for United’s Customer UX team, driving design excellence and strategic vision.
• Set and communicate design direction for complex, multi-platform digital projects aligned with business goals and user needs.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level designers, fostering talent growth and maintaining high design standards.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration, managing relationships with stakeholders, product managers, and engineering leaders.
• Oversee the design of sophisticated omnichannel user journeys, ensuring consistency and excellence across platforms (web, mobile, emerging).
• Define and establish design principles, standards, and governance models to guide scalable and high-quality design solutions.
• Direct prototyping and validation initiatives, leveraging user research and testing to inform design decisions.
• Champion the evolution of United’s design system, contributing advanced patterns and governance for design consistency.
• Stay current with emerging UI trends, tools, and technologies; evaluate and implement new approaches as needed.
• Advocate for inclusive design, applying WCAG accessibility standards to digital experiences.
• Present design work and strategy to senior leadership and executives, influencing key decisions.
• Balance user advocacy with business objectives and technical constraints in a fast-paced, complex environment.
• Manage multiple complex projects and teams simultaneously, ensuring strategic alignment and attention to detail.
