PURPOSE
At Al-Ghurair, cloud computing continues to allow us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this transformation, we’re seeking an experienced Microsoft Azure & Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud engineer with expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud. The ideal candidate is experienced in cloud-based tech, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and the ability to customize them to help Al-Ghurair’s business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, and advanced industry knowledge is key to keeping us on the cutting edge. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Administers the IT systems and cloud service operations, that involve build, deploy and run activities. primarily around Microsoft and AWS based platforms.
• Administers the core business essential services, like Directory services, Email, MS teams, One-Drive, etc and infrastructure for business applications, like Hyperion, SIMMA, Shuttleworth, CXL, etc.
• Provides advisory and consultation to other group companies on their large-scale system deployments on-premise and on-cloud.
• Administers the acquisition of new companies in to AGI infrastructure from Microsoft based service perspectives and leads the deployments and workload migrations b/w various on-premise and cloud platforms
• Ensures the availability, performance, scalability and security of production systems.
• Develops PowerShell Scripts to automate processes and tasks.
• Manages support operations for on-premise and cloud email systems, file servers, application servers, Teams, On-drive, etc.
• Responsible for Incident Management i.e. troubleshooting and leading critical issues on email, mobility, business application systems and driving them to resolution as per the SLAs.

• Lead the Operations support that includes the entire IT infrastructure housed within the Data Center in 24X7 environment
• Managed planning for capacity changes, maintaining corporate databases (SQL), and ensuring compliance with regulations Authorities.
CHALLENGES
• Data Center environment with 24×7 operations to 27+ different companies, 3500+ users across 70+ locations within U.A.E and abroad following different time-zones, hence support is needed after business hours as well
• Complex environment with multiple integrations and interdependencies
• Upgrades and fixes must be applied with minimal or no downtime
• Time management between day-to-day operations and project-based initiatives
• AGI has adopted a “Cloud First” strategy and this brings a change to the overall IT landscape.
KEY DECISIONS
• Identify problem domains and consult with the next levels on the best possible solutions, considering business uptime and application performance the top priorities.
• Identify risks associated with upgrades and patching in production instances and suggesting mitigation plans.
• Recommend capacity plan in-line with the data growth trends.
• Decide the full backup frequency pre and post upgrades and patch applications
• Evaluate and recommend IT security solutions.
• Sign-Off on new deployment or major changes to existing ones from Operational perspective
• Recommend and manage vendors/suppliers to source IT solutions, systems and services.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Bachelor’s degree in the computer science, systems, electrical or electronics
Overall 6+ years of experience in managing, installing, administering and supporting Microsoft systems,
• technologies and cloud platforms with a conglomerate or system integrator

• Microsoft Certified Azure/ AWS Administrator
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• MCITP
• MCTS (Messaging)
• MCTS (System centre operation manager)
• Project management
• CCA (Citrix certified administrator)
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
