Job Description
Field Support Technician
About the Role
We're looking for a sharp, client-savvy Field Support Technician to join our growing MSP team. You'll be the tech hero our NYC-area clients see face-to-face, solving everything from "my printer won't work" to complex network issues while maintaining the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that keeps their businesses running smoothly.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll work from home most of the time, but expect to be on-site with clients in Manhattan 2-3 days per week. One day you might be troubleshooting a network issue at a law firm in Midtown, the next you're setting up new workstations for a financial services company in FiDi, and by Friday you're responding to urgent tickets remotely while sipping coffee in your home office.
As an MSP, we support multiple clients across different industries—which means you'll never be bored. You'll handle a mix of reactive support (tickets, emergencies, the occasional "everything is on fire" call) and proactive work (updates, monitoring, preventative maintenance).
Day-to-Day Tech Stuff
• Provide onsite and remote support for our diverse client base
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across Windows and Mac environments
• Handle ticket queues in our PSA (we use ConnectWise, but we'll train you if you haven't used it)
• Deploy and configure workstations, printers, and peripherals
• Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VPNs, and cloud applications
• Document everything (seriously, good documentation is love in our world)
• Build real relationships with client contacts—you're the face of our company
What You Bring
• 2+ years of IT support experience (bonus points for MSP background)
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to think on your feet
• Excellent communication skills—you can explain tech stuff to non-tech people without the condescension
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits
• A genuine desire to help people and solve problems
Nice to Have
• Experience with RMM tools (Kaseya, Datto, etc.)
• Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certs
• Familiarity with backup/disaster recovery solutions
• Basic networking knowledge (VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
Why Join Us
• Clear career path to Senior Engineer or Senior Systems Administrator roles
• We promote from within—our leadership team started where you'd be starting
• Competitive salary + benefits
• Flexible schedule when not on client sites
• Variety—no two days are the same in the MSP world
• Professional development opportunities (certs, training, conferences)
• Work with modern technology across multiple environments
Location: NYC metro area (home-based with regular client site visits to Manhattan)
